The CSI Twist-Bend Tester is used to measure the ability of a fiber optic cable to withstand simultaneous bending and twisting under controlled test conditions as prescribed by the referenced test methods.
The apparatus provides for one twist cycle per bend cycle. The cable is held vertically by a set of adjustable sample clamps. The sample is bent around a sheave of a specified radius and is twisted over a 180-degree rotation in a vertically cyclic motion of twenty centimeters.
The apparatus is provided with a set of sheaves and weights for bending and tensioning. The cyclic action is produced by an electric motor whose speed is adjustable, such that a required rate of test cycling maybe set.The Twist-Bend Tester includes: Heavy duty base plate.
