CSI-242 (Torsion Tester- ) |
The CSI-242 Torsion Cyclic Tester is used to measure the resistance to repeated torsion of fiber optic cable under controlled conditions of angle and axial tension.
Cable tested may be up to 25-mm diameter and the length may be adjusted from 2-m up to 5.0-m by simply separating the movable cable chucking and loading assembly on the support rail assembly.
The apparatus includes a heavy duty steel frame that supports the motorized drive mechanism and the torsion members. The apparatus is designed for floor operation and foundation anchoring is required for optimum and safe performance. Operation of the tester is remote.
Torsion angle of the cable may be adjusted up to 180 deg. Optional larger torsion angle is offered upon request.
The torsion action occurs when the cable is securely clamped at the rotating chucking head, while the other end is held by a fixed chuck support at the far end of the frame of the apparatus. The torsional speed may be adjusted from the Operator Console by dial action. The angular travel is mechanically changed by rack and pinion adjustment.
The equipment is supplied with a complete set of clamping collets and tensioning weights. |
