The CSI-267 NBS Footwear Abrader is used for determining the resistance to abrasion of vulcanized elastomer compounds used in the soles and heels of footwear.
The apparatus was developed by the National Bureau of Standards for measuring the abrasion resistance of soft vulcanized rubber compounds, as nearly as possible, the conditions of wear of rubber which may be expected in normal use. Its highly satisfactory performance over a period of many years proves that it is the simplest in design, gives reproducible results, and operates at low cost.The apparatus includes: Metal drum
