Model CSI-89 Gas Permeability Tester is used for evaluating the steady-state rate of transmission of gas through plastics in the form of films, shearing, laminates, and plastic coated papers for fabrics.
This unit is based in the Manometric Method in which the sample is mounted in the specially designed gas transmission cell to form a sealed barrier between two chambers, the lower chamber is initially evacuated and the transmission of the gas through the test specimen is indicated by an increase in pressure. This increase in pressure is observed by a U-shaped glass manometer.
This instrument may be supplied with an automatic recording device to measure the changes in height of the mercury in the cell manometer leg versus time during the test process. Optionally, a computerized data acquisition system is available to record, display in real-time mode the gas transmission rate, and produce a test report meeting the test method requirements.Model CSI-89 Main Features include: Test Console for one or more cells, including:
