CSI-70 (Armstrong Abrader )
The CSI Armstrong Abrader is the most suitable instrument designed for testing the resistance to abrasion of flat plastic sheet or film compositions.
The Armstrong Abrader is designed to obtain quantitative measure of the resistance of sheet (rigid or semi-rigid) composition to the abrasive action of sand paper. Resistance to Abrasion by the use of this instrument is determined in terms of volume loss.

Main components of the apparatus:

A circular vertical chain track with flat mount plates that carries the specially prepared specimens to meet the abrasive element. Carriage Assembly which rests on roller bearings and has provision for keeping a strip of sand paper in continuous motion while abrading the samples. The directions of the motion of sandpaper and samples are opposite.
Two zinc control plates
Six sample test plates
Weights: one-20lb.; two-10lb.; one-5lb.
Ten rolls - 2” wide Emery Abrading Paper
